New Online Court Booking & Club Access System

As many members are aware we are intending to install a new online court booking and club access system in the near future. The committee reviewed several systems before deciding to install the XML2010 system. It was felt that this system provided the best solution for Wigginton Squash and Social Club and its members. It is a system which provides each member with a user account which they can top up with credit and then use to book courts.

Club squash playing members can top up their account online, using PayPal, or by using cash at the in club payment and booking kiosk. Members will also have the facility to book courts online or in the club at the kiosk. Members, including social members, will be issued with a key fob which is used to gain access to the club and to the court booking system when in the squash club. This key fob system will also be used to gain access to the club and replace the swipe card system. Key fobs will be issued to all members who currently have a swipe card.

The system will control the court lights and access to the club. Members will be issued with a key fob which is unique to their account. They will also have an account username and password to allow online booking. The system can be used via home computers or smart phones. There is no requirement to download an app for your phone.

More details of the system can be found on the club notice board in the bar or by downloading a pdf brochure from the system provider’s website:

There is a link on the left of the screen which allows you to download the brochure.

The key points for members to consider are as follows:

The current swipe card entry system will cease to operate on Sunday 10/06/12.

All members, including social members, who currently have a club entry swipe card should exchange it for a key fob used by the new system.

Swipe cards will be exchanged for key fobs at no cost to members

The exchange will commence on Sunday 10/06/12.

We intend to have committee members available to swap cards for key fobs and advise on the usage of the new system on the following dates at the times specified:

  • Sunday, 10/06/12 from 10:00 to 21:00

  • Monday, 11/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

  • Tuesday, 12/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

  • Wednesday, 13/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

  • Thursday, 14/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

  • Friday, 15/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

  • Saturday, 16/06/12 from 19:00 to 21:30

Courts booked for use post commissioning, using the old system prior to commissioning, will be transferred to the new system.

Booking stamps accompanied by tokens will be exchanged for cash post commissioning.

The committee accepts that there are likely to be some teething troubles with the new system. However, we will work hard to ensure that the transition is a smooth one and that any inconvenience is kept to a minimum throughout the transition period. Any members unable to pick up their key fob during the allocated times should contact a committee member to make alternative arrangements.
